Geometry in service of sound.

01
Spherical sealed bass
A 6.5" long-throw aluminium bass driver in a sealed spherical enclosure. The sphere is the ideal acoustic shape — no parallel walls, no standing waves, no resonances. Deep, tight, controlled low end.
02
Open-baffle dipole midrange
A 4" carbon fibre midrange driver mounted in an open baffle, clamped by its magnet. With no rear enclosure, there is no box coloration. The sound from 700Hz upward is open, natural, and free of the "boxiness" that plagues conventional speakers.
03
AMT tweeter
A vertical air motion transformer handles everything from 7,000Hz upward. The AMT's folded diaphragm moves air faster than a conventional dome tweeter, delivering effortless high-frequency detail and extension.
04
Cascading sphere dispersion
The descending spheres along the rear are not purely decorative. They disperse the rear sound wave from the open-baffle midrange, preventing reflections that would otherwise colour the sound. Form follows acoustic function.
05
Dash Audio 3-channel DSP
The same Dash Audio amplifier as the Freeform One, configured as 200W + 100W + 100W for the three drivers. Active DSP crossover at 700Hz and 7,000Hz. Phase-aligned, time-corrected, individually tuned to each driver's measured response. Bluetooth 5.0 with LDAC and aptX for hi-fi wireless streaming. Read our recommended setup →

Fills a room naturally
The combination of sealed bass, dipole midrange, and wide-dispersion AMT tweeter creates a sound that integrates with room acoustics rather than fighting them. Multiple listening positions. No sweet spot. Just music.
Heritage

Inspired by Linkwitz Lab.

The Freeform LX draws on the pioneering work of Siegfried Linkwitz, whose open-baffle speaker designs demonstrated that removing the rear enclosure from a driver fundamentally changes how a speaker interacts with a room.

Linkwitz showed that a dipole midrange, properly implemented, creates a listening experience that is less dependent on room placement and more dependent on the recording. The sound seems to exist in the room rather than coming from a box.

The Freeform LX takes this principle and reimagines it through 3D printing. The spherical bass enclosure, the magnet-clamped open-baffle midrange, and the cascading dispersion spheres are geometries that cannot be manufactured conventionally.

The result is a speaker that honours Linkwitz's acoustic philosophy while taking the physical design somewhere entirely new.

Colour

Printed in any colour you want.

Every Freeform LX is printed to order. Choose from the full range of Filamentive recycled PETg or recycled PLA colours , or request multi-colour and colour-shifting filaments for a truly unique piece.

With the Prusa XL's 5-head toolchanger, multiple colours can be combined in a single print. No painting. No finishing. The colour is built in.
